Deacon Willie ( Donie) Wilson Obituary


Deacon Willie (Donie) James Wilson was born on July 28, 1933 in Eastover, South Carolina to Moses Shiver, Sr and Mary Hopkins. He departed this life on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
He was educated in the public school system in Richland County, South Carolina. As a young man he worked many years in construction, as a welder, and later as a heavy equipment mechanic. At the end of his career, he retired from Boggs Tractor Company.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating and gardening. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor with a house or vehicle repair.
He was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church for over 60 years serving in the capacity of Sunday School teacher and Deacon, committed to sharing the gospel with others. He was a member of the Seneca River Brotherhood Association, Oglesby Family Reunion Committee and a lifetime member of the NAACP along with being a Honey Dew of the Society of Red Hatters.
Deacon Wilson is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of more than 61 years, Louise Wilson.  His sons; Tony Jones (Mardella), Terry Belton, Jeffrey Wilson (Kathy) and one daughter Sandra Littles (Milton); seven grandchildren Tiffany Douglas (Cameron), Brigitta Shelby (Crispin), Tony Jones Jr, Terry Belton Jr, De’Andre Wilson (Rae’Nia), Nathaniel Littles 
(Brittany), Desmond Littles (Hayley); fourteen great grandchildren; brother Moses Shiver Jr (Helen); sisters Oneeda Stroy, Betty Catoe, Martha Scott and a host of nieces and nephews along with many other loving relatives and caring friends.

A Viewing Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 1pm-5pm, M.J.G Chapel, Gilbert Mortuary.

A Wake Service will be held On Friday, May 30, 2025 from 6pm -8pm, M.J.G Chapel, Gilbert Mortaury.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2pm, Seneca River Association Family Life Center, 298 South Poplar Street, Seneca SC, 29678. Burial will follow at Cross Road Baptist Church Cemetery, 110 Dales Dr. Westminster SC, 29693
