James Courtney Johnson

James Courtney Johnson, 31, gained his wings on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Tammy( Brandon) Burton and Joshua( Nakasha) Blassingame.

James attended Mauldin High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Presbyterian College. James was a lover of the outdoors. When he was not working you would find him in the field on a tractor.

James also loved Jesus. He loved sharing his testimony and the amazing things God done in his life. He served as a Deacon at St. Mark Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, His Daughter, Veda; Mother, Tammy( Brandon); Father Joshua( Nakasha); Sister, Kiana; Brothers, Joshua ll, Braylon, Jacob, Ayden, and Jordan; Nephew, Elijah; Grandparents, Betty Johnson, Rev. James( Shirley) Blassingame,  Ozella Blassingame, Rev. Elias( Wanda) Burton; Aunts, Jennifer( David) Johnson, Anita Blassingame; Uncle William Hoover and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ellis S. Johnson

A viewing service will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 from 1pm-5pm, M.J.G. Memorial Chapel, Gilbert Mortuary. ( FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND PUBLIC). A private service will be held for only Mr. Johnson immediate family on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1pm, M.J.G Memorial Chapel, Gilbert Mortuary. Mask are mandatory for attendance!
