Vanessa Dale Williams was born to the late JD and Betty Williams on December 28, 1955 in Seneca, South Carolina. She was the first born of six children.
Vanessa was born in South Carolina but moved to Detroit at a early age. She later returned to Walhalla, South Carolina. On June 2, 2020 she departed this life at Oconee Memorial Hospital, Seneca, South Carolina.

Vanessa’s beautiful smile will be truly missed. Her fun personality was truly her style. She liked to dance, enjoyed food, loved a good game of bingo, indulged in her cigarettes from time to time, spent time with her family and loved to go to church. She loved everybody and had a heart of gold, full of love and peace.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Shannan J. Williams (Erin), of Walhalla, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Jasmine Williams, Emily Williams, Anthony Williams and Jeremiah Williams; three sisters, Doreathea Williams, whom she lived with, Phyllis Williams (Anothy Penn) and Sue Ellen Williams of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, John D. Williams of Detroit, Michigan and Phillip Williams of Walhalla, South Carolina along with Walter Lee Moss of Westminster, South Carolina; two aunts, Stella Nathan of Walhalla, South Carolina and Sharon Williams of Arlington; one uncle, Early (Blossum) Williams of Washington, D.C. along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
